Not really, you just want to make sure you are really happy with the paint work underneath as the more coatings you apply the harder it will be to remove if you want to rectify the paintwork later.
Most quality coatings are applied sufficiently with 1-2 coatings. However more applications can sometimes create a glassy depth and clarity in the paintwork as you are adding thickness to the paint.
