THE PPF PROBLEM

Adventure vehicles need serious levels of protection to survive harsh enviroments that we love to explore in Australia. Current options in the market include Expensive Paint Protection Film (PPF) and Long-Term Under-body Rust Protection which do provide excellent levels of protection. However have serious downsides to consider which massively effect the Return on your investment your spending. First is the cost as these types of protection generally START at around $10-$15k which makes high-quality protection unfeasible for alot of people.

The second issue is the installation, especially for the PPF. A high quality PPF installation is generally seamless which means the car is wrapped perfectly making it look like there is nothing there. This means door handles, badges removes ect, to achieve the perfect flush finish. While the look is excellent and can justify the price, especially if its a good job, the real issue is the costly re-installation especially if your planning to use your vehicles for Serious Offroad Adventures. When you damage a PPF panel, it will need to be replaced and thus re-installed ect. When you weigh this up against the altertanitive of just collecting a few scratches over the years and maybe you might need to buff a few out or maybe some go deeper and need panel work, your still not likely to be out of pocket $10k+.

Lets Explain The Differences Compared to Traditional PPF Installation:

Paint Protection Film (PPF):

Traditional PPF applications are expensive due to their seamless, edgeless finish and the time required to achieve such results. Our approach uses a custom-fitted template that conforms to the panel, but without tapering off the edges. If you look closely, you’ll see the outline of the PPF. While the appearance isn’t as flush or polished as a traditional install, it still looks great and maintains a glossy shine. More importantly, it effectively absorbs impacts and damage, protects the panel, and is easy to replace. This system saves you significant money—not only on the initial install (approximately one-quarter the cost of traditional applications), but also on future replacements, which are likely after your off-road adventures.

Additionally, our Aftercare Service Guarantee covers free re-installs; you only pay for the replacement material if damage occurs during your extreme off-road trips. The film is glossy, strong, durable, self-healing, and backed by a 5-year warranty against fading and cracking.

Now for Underbody Protection:

When it comes to underbody protection, there are three main options available:

Electronic rust proofing
Industrial-strength applications like IGL Aegis
Underbody sealant protection

Electronic rust proofing was once the standard but is no longer considered robust enough to offer reliable protection. Products like IGL Aegis provide more permanent solutions, offering excellent long-term protection and ease of cleaning. However, they are costly and still require maintenance, much like ceramic coatings.

This brings us to underbody sealant protection, which has grown in popularity over the last 24 months due to advancements in technology. The major advantage of these sealants is their heavy-duty rust-proofing capability, protecting your vehicle for up to two weeks of intense beach driving. Cleaning is also a breeze—thanks to its sand-phobic properties, sand simply falls off, significantly reducing your clean-up time (usually the worst part of a beach trip).

The downside is that it’s a temporary solution, requiring reapplication every three months. However, since underbody protection is only needed in specific conditions, you can simply reapply it a couple of days before your trip.
